Texas Rattler Daniel Keeping Wins PBR Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour Event in Dayton, Ohio

Going 2-for-3 inside Nutter Center, Keeping garnered a crucial 123 Velocity Global points

DAYTON, Ohio – When the dust settled inside Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio, Daniel Keeping (Montague, Texas) rode supreme, parlaying a 2-for-3 performance into an event win at the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour’s PBR Dayton.

Keeping, who rides for the reigning Champion Texas Rattlers, presented by Ariat, in the separate PBR Teams league, got off to a quick start in Round 1, delivering what tied for the fourth-best score when he covered Spotted Demon (3B Cattle Co.) for 86 points.

While the charismatic Texan was bested in Round 2, tossed by It’s Cherry (Halpain Bucking Bulls) in 4.16 seconds, his opening round score proved enough to punch his ticket to the championship round.

Keeping then went head-to-head against Kephart’s Solomon (G&H Cattle).

Nodding with confidence, Keeping remained in perfect time with the powerful animal athlete, reaching the requisite 8 with ease. Marked a championship round-best 86.5 points, the score proved enough to clinch the victory for Keeping.

Courtesy of the win, Keeping earned a crucial 123 points in the race for the 2024 PBR Velocity Tour Championship.

Claudio Montanha Jr. (Ribeirao dos Indios, Brazil) was second, netting 83 Velocity Global points.

Montaha was sensational through the opening two rounds, delivering back-to-back 86-point rides as he conquered Red Bull (Team Wyatt) in Round 1, and Dynamo (John Brennan/Danny Ford Enterprises) in Round 2.

Salty Brindle (Cornwell Bucking Bulls), however, proved too much for the affable Brazilian to handle, bucking him off in a quick 2.01 seconds in the championship round and extinguishing Montaha’s hopes of victory.

The Austin Gamblers’ Ramon de Lima (Rio Branco, Brazil) and Dustin Martinez (Canjilon, New Mexico) both went 2-for-3 to tie for third.

Lima earned 58.5 Velocity Global points for his 84.5-point effort aboard Cold Front (LH Cattle Co./2T Cattle Co.) in Round 1, and 85-point score atop Nautical Nightmare (Halpain Bucking Bulls) in the championship round.

For Martinez, he took home 60.5 Velocity Global points after he rode Dynamo for 87.5 points in Round 1, and Above & Beyond (John Brennan/Danny Ford Enterprises) for 82 points in Round 2.

Rounding out the Top 5 and tying for fifth was Qynn Andersen (Koumala, Queensland, Australia) and Tyler Manor (Portland, Indiana).

Going 1-for-3, Andersen and Manor delivered matching, event-best 88-point rides to earn 42.5 Velocity Global points.

Andersen won Round 2 via his 88-point ride on Buffalo Heifer (Sterk Bucking Bulls), while Manor lit up the scoreboard in Round 1 when he recorded 88 points atop Dang, Dang (Burkham Contracting Inc.).
