Cheyenne, Wyoming — The Cheyenne Frontier Days, held from July 18-28 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, is one of the most anticipated events in the rodeo calendar, drawing top competitors from around the country. The slack rounds, which take place before the main event, set the stage for an intense competition. Here’s a breakdown of the standout performances in each event during these preliminary rounds.

Steer Wrestling
In the steer wrestling qualifiers, Winsten McGraw led the pack with an impressive time of 6.1 seconds, earning $4,102. He was closely followed by Talon Roseland, who finished in 6.5 seconds, and Chance Howard with 6.7 seconds, securing $3,567 and $3,032 respectively. The third position saw a tie between Jace Logan, Jeremy Burkhalter, and Trell Etbauer, each clocking in at 6.8 seconds and earning $1,962. The wildcard round was dominated by Will Lummus, who finished in 6.0 seconds, taking home $3,223. Grant Peterson and Tucker Ravenscroft tied for second place with a time of 6.9 seconds, each earning $2,593.
Team Roping
In team roping, the qualifiers were topped by Erik Becenti/Shawn Murphy and Lightning Aguilera/Lane Mitchell, both teams completing their runs in 7.4 seconds and earning $4,778 each. Barrel Racing
Leslie Smalygo topped the barrel racing qualifiers with an impressive time of 17.09 seconds, earning $7,785. Michelle Alley and Kassie Mowry followed with times of 17.28 and 17.32 seconds, securing $6,673 and $5,561 respectively. Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi finished fourth with a time of 17.33 seconds, earning $4,819.
