Rocker Steiner’s Journey to the 2024 NFR: A Family Legacy in Bareback Riding

While Rocker Steiner gets ready for the battle of his life, his sister gives us a little insight into the strong bond of the Steiner rodeo family. Steiner is gearing up for his third National Finals Rodeo, but this one looks a little different. He is looking to grab his first world championship. With this championship, he would be joining his father, Sid Steiner, and grandfather, Bobby Steiner, in the collection. Big sister Steely Steiner explained that this year will be the one to watch, as Steiner is more experienced than his first NFR. “He’s learned a lot since his first finals at 18, and even though he’s only 20 now, he has a lot more knowledge and experience that is going to make the difference,” said Steely.

Not only is Steiner’s experience going to help him at the NFR this year, but it also helped him all season. “This year, 2024 regular season, Rocker finally got to compete the whole time without being interrupted by major injuries or other interferences. And from that, the world standings are finally a reflection of Rocker’s ability, in my opinion,” said Steely. The family has a strong experience and knowledge of rodeo; the Steiner name is a household name. Although rodeoing as a Steiner may be intense, they have learned how to excel in the intensity.

“Seeing Rocker be able to navigate his intensity and use it to keep momentum through the season is truly inspiring, as well as how he pulls himself out of dry spells. Rocker might have the best mental game, and that’s why he’s been able to win so much at such a young age,” said Steely. Stay tuned to see who will be crowned the 2024 Bareback Riding World Champion this December in Las Vegas.
