Going into the 2023 Professional Bull Riders (PBR) World Finals outside the top 10 in the world standings, Wingson Henrique da Silva had some ground to make up at the final event of the Unleash the Beast series in order to have a shot at taking home a world title. However, Silva’s four qualified rides (86 on Bison, 89.5 on Flyin Wired, 88 on Tijuana Two-Step and 88.25 on Ivy League) sent him to the Championship Round, where the event win would come down to the final two rides.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo is an annual event that celebrates the traditions of the Old West and promotes good will among horsemen and other area citizens. The rodeo has a long and proud history that dates back to October 8, 1951, when a group of men gathered at the Cleburne Livestock Auction Barn to form the Johnson County Sheriff’s Posse. The organization’s founding members included Claton Holland, Earl King, Richard White, Ray Porter, Roy Burton, R.B. Gillis, E.E. Wheeler, Bill White, and H.H. Johnson.
Taking full advantage of every opportunity his rookie season has presented, 21-year-old Dean Thompson from Altamont, UT has planned on doing everything possible to qualify for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR) in 2023; and as number 11 in the world standings in bareback riding, he’s already racked up earnings of more than $40,000 so far this year.

FORT WORTH, Texas – Rafael Jose de Brito (Potirendaba, Brazil) etched his name in the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) history books this afternoon in Fort Worth, Texas, completing a come-from-behind surge in the standings to win the World Finals event and 2023 PBR World Championship.
