On the Edge: No. 15 Athletes Ready to Shine at Wrangler NFR

With the 2023 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR) just around the corner, the top 15 athletes are being put on a very prominent stage for the rest of the world to see. But these qualifications never come easy; and for the contestants in the number 15 spot in the world standings, they had to rodeo hard and strategically through the very end of the regular season, or be far enough ahead towards the end to be safe.

Bareback Riding – Richmond Champion
8x NFR Qualifier; $111,688 regular season earnings

Saddle Bronc Riding – Ryder Sanford
First Time NFR Qualifier; 2023 Resistol Rookie of the Year; $125,388 regular season earnings

Bull Riding – Cullen Telfer
First Time NFR Qualifier; $128,245 regular season earnings

Steer Wrestling – Don Payne
First Time NFR Qualifier; $84,612 regular season earnings

Team Roping (Header) – Luke Brown
14x NFR Qualifier; $97,752 regular season earnings

Team Roping (Heeler) – Tyler Worley
3x NFR Qualifier; $93,983 regular season earnings

Tie Down Roping – Tuf Cooper
15x NFR Qualifier; 4x World Champion; $114,326 regular season earnings

Barrel Racing – Paige Jones
First Time NFR Qualifier; $102,968 regular season earnings

Breakaway Roping – Erin Johnson
4x NFBR Qualifier; 3x World Champion; $66,742 regular season earnings

These athletes are the perfect example of hard work and determination paying off. With the massive payout at the NFR, anything can happen; so it will be interesting to see who pushes through to work their way up the world standings during the 10 biggest days of professional rodeo!
