March 23, 2025 — HOUSTON, Texas — Nine athletes in eight events earned RODEOHOUSTON® Championship titles, each taking home the coveted $65,000 grand prize, along with a championship saddle and belt buckle, during the Finals at NRG Stadium.
Riley Webb Shines in Tie-Down Roping
Riley Webb of Denton, Texas, clinched his second RODEOHOUSTON title with a blazing 7.5-second run. “I knew I had to make a great run,” Webb shared. “The calf was good. I was able to put a Huey on him and was fast enough.” Webb first won the event in 2023, making this victory even sweeter.
Event Highlights:
Bareback Riding:
Rocker Steiner from Weatherford, Texas, wowed the crowd with a 91-point ride aboard Agent Lynx of Calgary Stampede, earning $71,000. “I knew that was the horse to win it on,” Steiner said. “It bucks, it’s electric. It’s what the judges like to see.”
Team Roping:
Derrick Begay (Seba Dalkai, Arizona) and Colter Todd (Willcox, Arizona) dominated with a 5.8-second run, collecting $143,500 in combined earnings. “I’ve heard guys always say, ‘It hasn’t sunk in yet,’” Begay said. “I think we can relate to that.”
Saddle Bronc Riding:
Ryder Wright of Beaver, Utah, scored 87 points on Mortician of Cervi Championship Rodeo to secure his first RODEOHOUSTON title. “This rodeo is huge,” Wright said. “They upped the money this year for the final four — with that much money, it’s life-changing.”
Steer Wrestling:
Tucker Allen from Ventura, California, clinched the title with a 4.2-second run, adding $69,000 to his earnings. “It’s unreal,” Allen said. “It makes my hopes of a world buckle that much more in sight.”
Barrel Racing:
Kassie Mowry of Dublin, Texas, delivered a lightning-fast 14.5-second run on her horse, Kernel, earning $73,000. “It was just a good, typical run for [Kernel],” Mowry said. “I didn’t realize he was running that hard when they said my time.”
Breakaway Roping:
Taylor Munsell from Alva, Oklahoma, took the championship with a 2.7-second run. “A win like this definitely helps go with the rest of the year,” Munsell said. “It’s super exciting to have a little money to make it a little more fun this year [in rodeo].”
Bull Riding:
Tristen Hutchings of Monteview, Idaho, earned the top spot with a 91.5-point ride on Dialed In of Double S Bull Co. / Cervi, with total RODEOHOUSTON earnings of $73,000. “I’m very excited to be able to wake up every day and look at my two guitars and my Houston saddle,” Hutchings said. “I’m excited that I beat some of the guys in there because they’re tough competitors.”
