The Unstoppable Force: Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi

Leading the world standings by more than $35,000 going into the end of the summer run is Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi, the two-time world champion (2007 and 2009) from Lampasas, Texas who finished the 2022 season in the 11th spot. With more than 20 years of professional rodeo experience, the tenacious and fiercely competitive cowgirl has qualified for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR) 16 times.

Conquering the 2023 Season:

With big wins in the 2023 season at rodeos such as the Sandhills Stock Show & Rodeo and the Calgary Stampede, she’s earned over $145,000. Aboard her exceptionally fast and athletic horse, Jets Top Gun (Benny), Pozzi Tonozzi made a 16.70-second run in the short round at the 2023 Reno Rodeo to set a new arena record.

Extending the Lead and Making History:

With a 16.79-second run at the Utah Days of ‘47 Rodeo in Salt Lake City, she extended her lead in the world standings with a $17,688 win, also making her a $3 million cowgirl in her Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) career.

Last year, Pozzi Tonozzi placed in four out of 10 rounds at the NFR, including a tie for the win in the sixth round: her first NFR round win since 2011. This year, there is no doubt she’ll be chasing a third NFR average title and third world championship.
